The PPD announced that they will be setting up a DUI checkpoint on an upcoming weekend at an undisclosed location within Porterville. Officers will check drivers for appropriate licensing and look for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Police also said they will be conducting DUI saturation patrols aimed at getting intoxicated and impaired drivers off the road. Police are urging people not to drive if they are impaired and are offering helpful advice such as using a designated driver.
